Middleton's Tribe

I wanted to write you a special note.

First off - thank you for subscribing.  I'm excited to have you join me on this journey.  I've been thinking about something like "WORDS OF WISTROM" for a long time.  Robert has been such a great cheerleader for my writing.  These stories wouldn't be here without his help.

Finding our authentic voice - especially in the written word - can be a challenge.  I can't tell you how many things I've written something then threw away.  I've always felt like I was following a given formula for marketing or sales, but somehow or another, after I wrote it - it just didn't sound like me.  It sounded like someone I was trying to copy because they were great at their own authenticity.  I thought it was the best I could do - and quite frankly - it wasn't good enough.

Something finally clicked this summer when Robert pushed me to write.  He said that he didn't care what we wrote about - we just had to write.  I wrote two stories - BULLCRAP and MR. OLD SCHOOL.  I asked him what he thought.  He loved BULLCRAP and said that it should be the start of my newsletter.  His question was:  "Do you have any more stories like this?"  My answer:  "I have TONS of them."  He laughed and said - "Well, if any are as good as this one - you've really got something here...."

My very good friend and graphic designer Aileen Casey helped by creating the header for the newsletter.  Somehow - it felt like I was "home".  It was now a newsletter that I could relax with - and be myself.  It felt - and feels - COMFORTABLE...

I've been writing about more "life" things than "business" things lately - but I plan on putting in a lot more business next year.  I've got a few really interesting ideas - and I'm going to be teasing them out here each week.

I have a few favors to ask.  I hope you don't mind.
1)  I appreciate opinions and feedback.  I may be asking for them outright as part of a story.  Please feel free to drop me a message or set up time to chat.
2)  I'm always looking to expand my network - getting to know more and more people is a joy for me.  Don't hesitate to connect with me on LinkedIn, call or schedule some time for a virtual coffee.  I use the same fancy booking site that Robert uses...
You can schedule HERE

3)  If there's anything I can do to help you on your journey - please let me know.

I wish you a wonderful holiday season - and a VERY HAPPY 2021!
